Love Sex Machine: Love sex machine
15/04/13 || gk
French sludge metal band Love Sex Machine had an interesting debut in 2012 with their claustrophobic, slightly industrial sounding take on sludge metal. A year later, the band is back with a new album and business is just as bleak. The sludge here is pounding and repetitive with the processed vocals sitting low in the mix and opener “Anal on deceased virgin” sets the tone with its harsh sounds and thick atmosphere.
There are some gems on this album and “Fucking battle” with its murky heaviness and attitude and “Vagina curse” with its strange off kilter groove are both impressive songs that show off the band’s potential. However, it all gets a bit monotonous over the course of the album and the song writing is just not very consistent. The album’s up for free on bandcamp and worth checking out for sludge metal fans but no one else will possibly care for it.
6.5/10: Impressive in patches, boring in others.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
